The Dave Mills Junior Trophy paired with the National Justin Rose Qualifier. Saturday 16th May
Some superb scores were posted by our talented juniors in the Dave Mills Trophy and the National Justin Rose Qualifier at Heworth Golf Club York, played Saturday 16th May. We also had a healthy turnout of 9 players which is encouraging to see.
3rd place was our new Junior Captain, Oscar Pearson with 38pts.
2nd Place, a truly remarkable score from 12 year old Ewan Schofield shooting a level par 70 Gross for 40pts. Incredible golf that Ewan especially at only 12 years old.
The winning score came from Jake Jennison with an excellent ten under par 46pts, 85 gross. Happy New Handicap Jake and congratulations on the Trophy win. 🏆

The gross winner (Ewan) and the net winner (Jake) go onto the national leader board and maybe a trip to Portugal fingers crossed.

Our first mens board competition of the season was played on Saturday 9th May with 60 players competing to win the Hunter Cup.
Martin Horner becomes our first 2026 board winner shooting a Net 67 narrowly edging out James Hilton Scott on count-back.

The Team play in the 5th division Yorkshire Championship at Brough Wednesday 20th May after qualifying in 7th position at Wakefield Golf Club 6th May.

58 players took part in the May Medal played in lovely spring weather and the competition was won by one of our Juniors.
Taylor Blogg with a great score of 85 Gross for a Net 61. Well played Taylor.
It was a Blogg 1-2 in Division 3 with Grandad Terry Blogg scoring a Net 64.
Division 1 was won by Geoff Scott with a Gross 80 for a net 66. Runner up Sean Bailey with a Gross 79 for a net 67
Division 2 honours went to Greg Potts with a Gross 85 for a Net 68, narrowly edging out Paul Hodgson on Count-back with a Gross 84, Net 68.
Lowest Gross was won by George Forder with a Gross 73.

Plummer Trophy - Winter Pairs Knockout Result
Congratulations to Grandfather and Grandson, Brian and Kyle Lowson on winning our winter knockout, The Plummer Trophy played 28th April.
Brian and Kyle played some excellent golf and came out victorious winning the final 5&4. Commiserations to our runners up Neil Ferguson and Jake Jennison.

Bunnies Trophy - Sunday 19th April
Congratulations to Mandy Liddell winning our first ladies board competition of 2026 in the Bunnies Trophy carding a net 77. Runner up Ed Blogg with net 80. Well played Mandy.
4BBB Stableford - Sunday 12th April
52 players took part in the April 4BBB Stableford played Sunday 12th April.
The winning score came from our Junior Pair of Jake Jennison and Taylor Blogg with an excellent score of 45 Stableford points (9 under par). Well played lads. Runners up Steve Bellerby and Brian Lowson with 42pts narrowly edging out David Arrowsmith and Steve Tait also with 42pts on countback.
Thanks to our greens team for presenting the course in excellent condition.

April Medal - Saturday 4th April
47 players took part in our first White Tee Qualifier of the season in the April Medal.
The first competitive knock from the back tees always proves to be a challenge made more difficult by a strong blustery wind which increased as the day went on. The scoring proved to be quite tough going with only 1 score breaking par all day coming in the final 3 ball.
Neil Ferguson came out victorious in the April medal carding a Gross 74 for a net 68 followed closely in second place in Division One by Callum Robertson with a Gross 74 for a net 70.
Nick Hilton Scott took the honours in Division 2 with a gross 86, Net 71 and Division 3 was won by Chris Cook with a gross 103 for a Net 71.
The Lowest Gross prize of the day was won by Cameron Ferguson with a Gross 73, won on countback narrowly edging out George Forder with the same score.
Only 1 two was recorded, Howard Barrick with a profitable return on the 17th hole.

We hosted our annual fun competition, the 4 club challenge on Saturday 21st march. Members have to choose which 4 clubs to use and one of these clubs, must be a putter. The winning score came from Cameron Ferguson with a remarkable score of 40 points playing off +1 handicap. (65 gross). An unbelievable score with only 4 clubs Cameron, congratulations.
