Presentation Night and Christmas Party - Saturday 6th December
Our Club Presentation Night and Christmas Party is booked for Saturday 6th December in the lounge at Heworth Golf Club, 7pm onwards.
All Trophies won in 2025 will be presented on the night and all trophy winners are kindly asked to attend to be presented with your trophy.
There will be a bumper Christmas raffle with the first prize a fully stocked Christmas hamper. Tickets are on sale now, please see Nicky behind the bar.
Free entry for all members, social members and guests.
Entertainment provided by DJ Bobbie Bundy including a Christmas Party Disco / Karaoke, card bingo and a Buffet provided at just £7.50 per head.

Ropes and Posts around the greens.
A request from our Greens team.
Our Greens Team have erected several posts and ropes around our greens. These have been put in place to protect the run off areas and green surrounds. Golfers are not permitted to take golf trolleys inside these roped areas. The ropes and posts must not to be moved in any circumstances.
If your ball comes to rest close to these posts/ropes and this interferes with your intended swing, please take complete, free relief.
You may mark, lift, clean and drop at the nearest point of relief no nearer the hole.

Cameron Ferguson & Max Moulton - Winners of the York Union of Golf Clubs Ted Kendall Junior Trophy
Congratulations to Cameron and Max winning the Ted Kendall Trophy played Sunday 12th October at Tadcaster Golf Club with and excellent team score of 44pts (8 under par). A great end to the season for our juniors. Well done to you both.
November Stableford - 01.11.2025
Our November Stableford was the final handicap qualifying competition of the year. The winning score came in division 2 from Billy Forder with 39pts.
Billy also won the first qualifying competition of the season in the April Medal. A great way to start and end the season Billy, congratulations on the win.
The tees have now moved forward to their winter positions and qualifying scores for handicap will resume again on April 1st 2026.

Congratulations to our Junior Champion, Cameron Ferguson winner of The Northern Golfer Champion of Champions event played Sunday 14th September on the Dawson Course, Longhirst Hall, Morpeth, Northumberland. Cameron won the Trophy by 2 shots after scoring a superb 2 under gross round of 71. Well played Cameron. A great result for you and Heworth Golf Club.

Club Champion 2025
Congratulations to Matthew Lord for winning our Club Championship for the 4th year in a row played Sunday 13th July. Superb scoring over 36 holes totalling 73 + 68 for a score of 141 (3 over par). Runner up Neil Ferguson 75 + 71 - 146. 3rd place Cameron Ferguson 75 + 74 - 149. Best net Paul Hodgson 67 + 67 - 134. Congratulations Matthew.

37 players took part in the October Stableford, played Saturday 11th October in bright autumnal sunshine.
The winning card came from Butch Mills in division 2 with a fine score of 39 Stableford points (3 under par).

David King - Captain's Day Sunday 15th June 2025
A field of 68 players took part in this years Captain's Day 2025. Thanks to everyone who contributed. £424.35 was raised for Cancer Research UK on the day. The Captain's Day Trophy was won by Steve Liddell with an Superb Stableford Score of 45 points. Congratulations Steve.
The Captain's Charity 2025 - Cancer Research UK
David King, our 2025 Club Captain has chosen Cancer Research UK as his chosen Captain's charity. David will be raising as much money as possible right thought his year in office for this very important Charity. Past Captain's Day - Wednesday 6th August
We hosted the Past Captain's day competition and evening dinner on Wednesday 6th August. The Past Captain's Day Trophy was won by Steve Knowles with 39pts, 2nd Brian Lowson 38pts and 3rd our 2025 Captain David King, also 38pts. Special thanks goes to our bar manager Nicky Taylor for the outstanding hospitality. We hope you all had a great evening Gentlemen.

Heworth Scratch Team Yorkshire Union Of Golf Clubs 6th Division Team Champions
Congratulations to Jimmy Batt, Matthew Lord and Callum Robertson for bringing home the Yorkshire Union Of Golf Clubs 6th Division Team Championship Trophy played 30th April 2025 at Knaresborough Golf Club. Jimmy recording the second best score of the day with a gross 74, Matthew scoring 77 and Callum 80 for a team score of +15. The team winning the event by 4 shots. This is a fabulous achievement for the golf club and the first time our scratch team has ever won a Yorkshire Union Team Championship Event. Congratulations and thank you from all the members. Good luck in the next round at Cottingham Park Golf Club on Wednesday 21st May.

Women's Golf Taster Night Tuesday 3rd June
10 ladies took part in a taster golf night aimed at attracting new lady golfers and potential new members. The night proved a great success with excellent tuition from our PGA pro Simon Appleton. Thank you to Nicky Taylor for the fine catering afterwards. New lady members can join Heworth Golf Club for only £399.
September Medal - Saturday 6th September. (Course Record Equalled)
The September medal was won by John Casson in Division 3 with a Net 62 (Gross 85). A great round of golf. Congratulations John.
We also saw a course record equalling score in Division 1. Junior member Cameron Ferguson (aged 17), equalled the "Course Record" with a brilliant score, Gross 66 playing off 2 handicap for a Net 64. Cameron taking the Division 1 prize. A truly outstanding round of golf, well played Cameron.
The Division 2 winning score came from Brian Lowson with a Net 68.
